Friday, September 8th, 2023 Reality Learning South Africa, a locally recognised business skills development institution, launched the goal-setting module with the objective of unlocking the learners’ potential for employment, career advancement, and active participation in society. ‘Life is reality’ says CEO Bernie Duddy.
Working with about 35 Year 4 learners, these learners will graduate school at the end of the year and will most likely be forced to enter the workforce due to family obligations and an inability to continue their education. As a result, one goal of Salesian administration is to ensure that their learners are job-ready and competent of marketing themselves.
Furthermore, the knowledge of the Rotary Club of Waterfront and Reality Learning South Africa, along with what we are experiencing, is transforming the way we need to engage the business community on behalf of our learners, according to Maxine Fraser, HoD at Salesian Learn to Live School of Skills.
The t-shirt and vision board exercises, in which each learner created their own paper t-shirt expressing their core values and strengths and matching these with pictures depicting what they want from life, forced learners to delve deeply within themselves.
