Since its launch, the Smart Work Centre has been bustling with activity. Learners have been utilizing the C4Kids and Reading Eggs programs, and many outside beneficiaries have benefited from the International Computer Driver’s License (ICDL) course.
The Centre’s primary aim is to promote digital literacy among learners, which can be quite challenging due to varying levels of reading and writing abilities. To tackle this, retired individuals have generously volunteered their time to assist with literacy programs. This partnership has proven to be highly rewarding for both the volunteers and learners, alleviating any frustrations and anxieties.
In addition to literacy programs, the Centre has expanded its offerings to include a workspace where learners can create professional profiles to increase their chances of finding employment or work experience opportunities. Thanks to our partnership with the Ulektz platform, learners can create online profiles that highlight their strengths and interests to potential employers, preparing them for the digital age of employment.
The Smart Work Centre is always on the lookout for new ways to empower our youth to find meaningful employment.
