Wholesome school vac! (Facebook post – Chadwin Petersen, team leader Rotary Adventures into Citizenship)
After months and months of planning our Rotary Adventures into Citizenship camp – spearheading the communications to all candidates, it has been an absolute honour working with a phenomenal and efficient team. This year, we hosted 57 Adventurers who had the opportunity to engage and participate in activities as active citizens. A profound moment that stood out for me was a talk done by Prof Jansen about – ‘Showing Up!’ As young people if we want to take over and lead in our democracy, given the current economic and political terrain we need to start “showing” up in order to make a meaningful contribution to society, at the report back meeting at Kelvin Grove on 14 July.
