DG Pam Rawbone Inspires Rotary Club of Waterfront with Vision to Unite for Good

Waterfront Rotary Welcomes District Leadership

RCW crew were delighted to welcome DG Pam Rawbone and AG Chris Beech to our meeting on Friday. In the words of our Captain: “With their guidance from District helm, we’re ready to navigate new waters together – responding to change, embracing opportunity for good”.🐬⚓⛵

Leadership Shares Vision for Connection and Progress

Above – Captain Tony and DG Pam Rawbone providing inspirational messages to crew and guests. Captain Tony emphasised the importance of building the relationship with District – “stronger – more connected”. DG Pam energised us all with positive District goals and outcomes – changes that would take our district forward in this fast-changing world as together, we UNITE FOR GOOD.

Strategic Focus on Growth and Adaptability

The visit to RC Waterfront was her 13th club visit. All clubs were doing remarkable work, no matter their numbers, they were functioning and doing well. The collaborative partnership with Rotaract, led by DRR Chadwin Petersen offering guidance and experience to our youth, was remarkable. DG Pam spoke of the titanic goals in the District’s Strategic Plan to grow membership, planning globally to adapt to change. Increase our impact, the power of kindness and goodness, and of the importance of reach and impact. She said: “Rotary must continue to expand its reach, enhance our engagement, and embrace the reality that we are living in a technical realm.”

Introduction of RI President-Elect

On a global note, DG Pam spoke of RI President Francesco Arezzo, a member of the Rotary Club of Ragusa, Italy, who has been selected as Rotary International’s President for 2025–26. A wonderful, charismatic leader who will lead Rotary with wisdom and strength to counter the challenges facing us globally, with kindness, goodness and continued commitment.

Rotary Championed as Inclusive Community

DG Pam, reinforcing Captain Tony’s message above to Michael Goldman – “People of all ages seek meaning and connection. Rotary provides both. Whether you’re 18 or 80, there’s a place for you here—a place to serve, to grow, and to belong.”

A productive board meeting was held afterwards

The Board met with DG Pam afterwards, joined by AG Chris Beech, Jennifer Hacker and Chevano Frans (representing Rotaract), which generated positive, constructive outcomes.  A good time to wish birthday buddy Jan Buurman, pictured here with the DG. No better way to celebrate one’s birthday than with our DG and crew!✨
