On Friday 7 March Project Leader Dirk Hoffman of the CTCT Cycle Tour event, proivided a comprehensive briefing and training for all the volunteers involved in marshaling in the big event on Sunday 9th March 2025. 🚴♂️🚴♀️

It was an amazing day for the 27th the Cape Town Cycle Tour 2025 with almost 28 000 cyclists competing in superb weather in both the 109 km event and 42 km events. The 109 km route is more than just a ride; it’s a journey through some of the most beautiful scenery South Africa has to offer. The whole event was on YouTube, to whet the appetite of cyclists for next year’s event, showcasing our beautiful City and surrounds.

A huge big thank you to Dirk Hoffman, project leader, who competently managed RC Waterfront’s responsibility of the event, parking ticket sales and parking in allocated areas from 4 am until 3:30 pm. Thanks to both you and Sue Truter 🌟 who organised the parking ticket sales. Very well done!👏
Selling of tickets, at the Expo, for parking near the Finish Area of the CT Cycle Tour on Race Day (coordinated by superstar Sue!)
“Once upon a time this was very hard work, we had thousands of tickets to sell and lots of school fields to manage.
These days there is much less parking, so tickets for sale are limited (CTCT 550 in 2025) and those in the know come to buy before collecting their race numbers. We also sold 300 ‘exit’ tickets for the Cape Quarter shopping centre .
Thanks to a team effort we have entered the digital age using a combination of Snapscan, banking apps and less cash – next year Yoco. There were 15 tickets left on Saturday morning which were sold out in 15 minutes.
The PRASA team, who shared the stand, were left with suggestions of parking areas around the city. We all do our bit for the city.
This is one way of flying the flag for Rotary and Cape Town, being part of the action & getting to know your fellow members. Thank you to all who volunteered their time.” 🚓🚘🚗

“To all those involved in this year’s cycle event, ticket sales and marshaling – well done team – much appreciated! Project Leader Dirk Hoffrman.”
