Transition in Leadership – A Little Bit About Our President-Elect Tony Austen … married to Rene (both teachers).

Anthony John Austen—a retired school principal, now working as a life coach, with a deep passion for personal development, leadership, and mindfulness.

Every morning, I rise at 4:00 a.m. to spend time in spiritual reading, listen to gentle music, and enjoy the quiet stillness that sets the tone for my day. These moments of reflection are where I find clarity, purpose, and peace.

Throughout my career, I’ve been fortunate to work across both education and the private sector. Sixteen years in business gave me valuable tools that I later brought into the classroom, helping young people prepare not just for exams, but for life. I truly believe teaching is the best job in the world—there’s nothing more fulfilling than guiding others to discover their potential.

Outside of work, I’ve always been drawn to challenges that require discipline and focus. In my younger years, I competed in endurance water-skiing and later became a gymnastics judge after retiring as a gymnast. These experiences taught me the value of perseverance, precision, and grace under pressure.

Today, I continue to learn and grow every day—through books, through people, and through quiet introspection. My mission is simple: to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others, one conversation, one insight, and one act of kindness at a time.

Above my desk hangs a quote by Nelson Mandela that guides everything I do:

“What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead.”

Thanks Tony, we look hugely forward to providing you mega support next year!
