In recognition of International Human Rights Day on 10 December, Soroptimist International Cape of Good Hope marked the occasion this past Saturday at Alphenvale in Constantia with a heartfelt celebration dedicated to peace, unity, and service.

A symbolic peace candle was lit by Immediate Past President Mymoena Ismail, honouring Rotary International and the Rotary Club of Waterfront for their continued commitment to uplifting communities.
June Webber, the first woman Governor and first woman President of the Rotary Club of Waterfront, delivered an inspiring message on the power of collaboration. She emphasised the vital role that civil society organisations play when they unite to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those most in need.
The event was proudly attended by June Webber, Mymoena Ismail, Janet Kriseman, and Leonardo Bartoleto, an exchange student — all demonstrating the spirit of service and global goodwill.
