The Last Night of the Proms was first presented by the Rotary Club of Wynberg at the City Hall of Cape Town in 1986 as a charity event to raise funds. Capetonians and visiting Promenaders now regard the Proms as an annual musical highlight in this city and public support has been overwhelming and generous. The Proms is not only a night of enjoyment of glorious music, it raises considerable charitable contributions.

125th Anniversary of City Hall Meets 25 Years of Proms Glory
2025 marks the 125th anniversary of Cape Town City Hall, and there’s no better way to celebrate than with the grandeur of the Last Night of the Proms.

What a blast it was, thanks Michelle for organising. With Michelle, James, June and Justin Schonegevel from Wynberg Rotary. Take a bow RC Wynberg – well done!
The Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra was conducted by Richard Cook – the choir in the back ground – see pic above (good branding Wynberg Rotary). Below, Jenny and Dennis Hacker thoroughly enjoying the evening, will definitely be back next year.
