Rotary Launches ACT4IMPACT Campaign – Celebrating 100 Years Of Service And Sustainable Impact

The V&A Waterfront lit up with purpose as Rotary D9350 officially launched its Act4Impact campaign, bringing together business leaders, media, and fellow Rotarians to celebrate 100 years of Rotary’s transformative work across the Western Cape, Northern Cape, Angola, and Namibia.

Collaboration for Sustainable Change

Alderman James Vos, Honorary Member of Rotary, highlighted the pivotal role Rotarians play in uplifting communities. He emphasized that achieving economic and social justice requires collaboration between key stakeholders—government, the private sector, and civil society—to drive sustainable, lasting change.

A Night of Honour and Inspiration

The evening’s highlight was the presentation of the Paul Harris Fellowship recognition to David Green, OBE, dynamic CEO of V&A Waterfront Holdings (Pty) Ltd. This prestigious recognition celebrates his exceptional leadership and unwavering commitment to community development.

Many congratulations to DG Stephen Young and his Act4Impact team who organised this magnificent celebration.

Captain Mymoena, played a pivotal role, blending the partnership of the V&A Waterfront, the City of CT and Rotary together to mark the 100th anniversary of the RC of Cape Town.  Very well done Mymoena! Thank you for shining the spotlight on RC Waterfront👏👏👏

Excellent radio, print and social media coverage (thanks to the PI Team)

The exhibition was well designed by President  Stephen Boers of the RC of Cape Town, displaying projects and history on multiple stands.

RCW had a number of projects displayed. Big thanks to Piet Postema for providing high quality pics superb for print.

Above: Captain Mymoena reading the Paul Harris Fellow citation for David Green (CEO of  V&A Holdings) – seen with Alderman James Vos (Mayoral Committee Member for Economic Growth) and DG Stephen Young. David shared, in his very interesting talk, of his parents’ love for Rotary. Whilst travelling when he was young, the first thing his father did was to look for a Rotary Club to do a make up! How about that!

Alderman James Vos, Honorary Member of the RC Waterfront, never fails to inspire and instill pride in us with his uplifting talks, always with a positive message on economic growth and sustainability, with an authentic emphasis on empowering communities and the less fortunate.

Above: Paul Harris Fellow recipient David Green genuinely delighted with the recognition.
