As Assistant Regional Rotary Membership Coordinator (Region 28/Zone 22), Tracey unpacked the global membership picture — with Africa leading robust growth. From February 2026, Africa will be reconfigured into Zones 22 & 23, reflecting significant expansion.
Key insights:
• Membership is Rotary International’s #1 internal priority (goal: 1.25 million members / +25,000 net growth in 5 years)
• Africa’s Zone 22 ranks 4th globally for net growth
• Retention is critical
Growth drivers in Africa include high-impact, sustainable projects focused on maternal & child health, education, the environment, clean water, entrepreneurship, and polio eradication — including Projects of Scale grant in Nigeria.
In Southern Africa, D9350 continues its upward trajectory.
Rotary happens in clubs. We don’t sell membership — we offer meaning, belonging, influence, and the opportunity to make a difference.
